The spectacle that is the Illinois State Meet is one of the greatest events I have ever been to. You read that correctly. The passion on display at Detweiller is on par with the NCAA XC Meet, The Olympics, and of course, Southern College Football.

Alan Webb is Very Popular in Virginia. So while at the Glory days Invitational I noticed a few things that should be pointed out.
1) People in the greater D.C. area are pretty knowledgeable about cross country/track and field. 2) People in the greater D.C. area love Alan Webb. 3) People all over the world love free stuff. So naturally when Mile American Record Holder Alan Webb starts throwing free stuff into a crowd just waiting to explode, things get crazy.

We ventured up to Whitefish Bay in Milwaukee this afternoon to watch the girls get ready for the state meet this weekend and some partake in some shenanigans with the rest of the team. Who doesn't like shenanigans?

So from Florida I had to make my way back up the east coast to get to the Glory Days Invitational in Virginia. On my way up I decide to visit Watuaga High School in Boone North Carolina. Lets keep track here, I just visited Brian Deals old high school, lived with his family and now I am visiting a high school just down the road (although a very mountainous road) from Appalachian State, where Brian went to college.
