SAUCONY® INTRODUCES ViZiPRO™ APPAREL COLLECTION
Brand’s highly reflective apparel line offers a “run safe” solution for today’s increased driver distractions and autumn’s reduced daylight hours - LEXINGTON, MA (September 29, 2009) – As runners are faced with autumn’s shorter daylight hours, Saucony, Inc., a leading global supplier of performance athletic footwear and apparel, is setting the standard for safe running with the launch of its highly reflective ViZiPRO Collection, a new line of performance apparel and accessories. Saucony’s ViZiPRO Collection, now available at select running specialty retailers, is inspired by the dedicated runners who want to extend their ability to run safely in fall and winter’s reduced daylight by enhancing their visibility to increasingly distracted drivers.

The ViZiPRO Collection includes jackets, vests, sport tops, headgear and hand gear for both men and women that feature its trademark neon orange color that maintains an incredibly luminescent, reflective surface for heightened visibility of the wearer. The new performance apparel products utilize a combination of lightweight, water-resistant fabrics engineered for maximum comfort and mobility. Select items from the collection also feature a road-side (right side) sleeve holster which holds an accompanying blinking LED light for enhanced visibility.
Recent statistics by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report that, on average, a pedestrian is killed in a traffic accident every 113 minutes and injured every 8 minutes. The majority, 53%, of accidents occurred between 4pm and midnight, with 23% of those between 4pm and 8pm, when runners are least visible and more likely to be out on the roads.
The ViZiPRO Collection passed rigorous tests to ensure runners training in these
low-light conditions can be better seen, allowing them to run more safely and devote more of their attention to their runs. According to industry-standard chromaticity testing results, Saucony’s ViZiPRO fluorescent orange fabric rated highest in visibility in the running industry. A chromaticity test measures the relative visibility of reflective and fluorescent materials and determines which provide the greatest visibility─a critical feature when running the roads.

ViZiPRO SonicLite HD Jacket & Vest
Available in both men’s and women’s sizes, the ViZiPRO SonicLite HD Jacket (MSRP: $90.00) is one of Saucony’s most versatile outer layers. Composed of ultra-fine micro fiber yarns woven into a high-density fabric, this lightweight, technical outer layer is soft, supple and whisper-quiet. A water-resistant shell is coupled with a half-back mesh vent for superior breathability and comfort in extreme conditions. The exceptionally luminous neon orange color ensures runners are visible in the darkest environments, while an LED holster on the right sleeve with an accompanying LED light can be used for increased visibility. Additional features include a media pocket with a wire highway, and a SlikZip to block wind and allow for effortless zipper movement.
ViZiPRO SonicLite HD Vest
For milder temperatures, the ViZiPRO SonicLite HD Vest (MSRP: $75.00) provides the same essentials as the SonicLite HD Jacket, without the sleeves. Available in both men’s and women’s sizes, it is lightweight, breathable, water-resistant, and the neon orange fabric ensures runners can be seen by approaching cars and bikes.
ViZiPRO Optech LX Sportop
The ViZiPRO Optech LX Sportop (MSRP: $60.00) provides ultimate comfort through a special loop knit that generates additional thermal warmth while staying soft and gentle against the skin. The popular Optech fabric is lightweight and designed for optimal moisture transfer, so runners stay dry and comfortable.
