His first time in Des Moines, was charmed. Webb surprised himself and the fans with a meet record mile of 3:51.71, catapulting him to an outstanding season that led to a U.S. mile record (3:46.91).

from USATF - INDIANAPOLIS - U.S. stars Stephanie Brown Trafton, Jeremy Wariner, Lolo Jones, Adam Nelson, Alan Webb, Christian Cantwell and Michelle Carter will headline the 100th running of the Drake Relays on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
